As a woodland satellite to an international architecture school, the Hooke Park project aims to realise the AA’s unique opportunity to fully engage with large scale fabrication, craft, technology, material behaviour, forestry and land – establishing a symbiotic relationship between experimental architectural production and the forest surroundings.
Curated by the Design + Make programme, this Conversation opens the on-going shaping of these ambitions to the AA community via the emerging Wakeford Hall project, revisits historical and recent projects and looks into what the future holds for Hooke Park.
The speakers will include past and current Design + Make students, AA-staff and architects who developed work at Hooke Park, alumni and friends.
The afternoon with consists of series of pairs of presentations, followed by an open discussion and drinks. A selection of models, prototypes and components from Hooke Park will be exhibited in the Lecture Hall on the day.
Speakers will include: William Moorwood, Christopher Sadd, Nozomi Nakabayashi, Shin Egashira, Clementine Blakemore, Zachary Mollica, Kate Davies, alongside D+M students and directors Martin Self and Emmanuel Vercruysse.
