Lecture date: 2011-11-24

Drawing on his recently published monograph, ‘The Alphabet and the Algorithm’ (MIT Press, 2011), Mario Carpo will discuss in particular the issue of digital agency, and how new forms of collaborative making affect the making of form and the visual ‘style’ of digitally designed objects.

Mario Carpo is the Vincent Scully Visiting Professor of Architectural History at the Yale School of Architecture and a professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is also author of Architecture in the Age of Printing (2001) and other books on early modern and contemporary architectural theory.
