Studio 8FOLD describes itself as a design and architec-ture studio based in Europe but with an African heart. Founders Aleksandar Stojakovic and Alexander Frehse are South Africans who came to London to study and stayed, setting up the practice in 2017. Believing that architecture should respond urgently to the climate emergency, Studio 8FOLD works closely with clients and partners who aim to bring about a cultural shift for a more sustainable world. London residential projects include Hackney Nest, a renovation and extension of a Victorian property, and Old Hat, New Face, a refurbishment of a Grade II-listed apartment in Bayswater. The practice also works internationally with the aim of bringing architecture to those who might not otherwise have access to it. Projects include a 120sqm school library in Weeraponkuna in Sri Lanka, and in South Africa, a crèche and a skate park. https://www.studio8fold.com/
