Sandra Coppin and Bev Dockray founded their practice in 2012 following a decade of working together at Niall McLaughlin Architects. The practice is interested in conserving buildings and their historic narratives and has a particular penchant for rehabilitating 20th century buildings, with an emphasis on refurbishment rather than demolition. Restoration projects include significant inter-war and post war buildings such as Jørn Utzon’s Ahm House in Hertfordshire and several apartments within Berthold Lubetkin’s Highpoint in London’s Highgate. The practice’s restoration of Ansty Plum House in Wiltshire, designed by Philip Dowson and David Levitt in 1961, resulted in an 80% reduction in carbon emissions. https://www.coppindockray.co.uk/
