Manuel Herz presents the book ‘African Modernism: The Architecture of Independence. Ghana, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya, Zambia’ as part of the Architecture Foundation 2023 Book Week.
Throughout the talk, Manuel discusses the close relationship between architecture and nation building, as Ghana, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya and Zambia, gained independence from their respective colonial powers throughout the 1950s and 1960s.
