Croydon Part Two: Unplanning the Future

Q: How do you solve a problem like Croydon’s less than perfect 60s urbanism? A: You don’t leave it to ‘the market’

Both part of London and a city in its own right, Croydon’s story is unique and complex. In this short documentary, the second in a two-part series from the Architecture Foundation, Phineas Harper examines the future of Croydon asking what architects, other boroughs and the Mayor can learn from Croydon’s ambitious approach to planning.

This documentary is made possible thanks to the generous support of HawkinsBrown, an architecture firm actively engaged in improving Croydon whose new bridge at East Croydon train station is featured in the film.
