Based in London’s Bermondsey, Hayatsu Architects specialises in public space design with a strong emphasis on community participation and the use of natural and traditional materials. The practice was founded in 2017 by Takeshi Hayatsu, who was previously a director at 6a Architects.
The practice describes its work as characterised by crafted, thoughtful, sensitive and playful approaches that are tailored to the particular situations and requirements of its users. The practice is currently working with art and architecture collective Assemble on The Blue Market, part of the community-led Made in Bermondsey regeneration project for Southwark Council and the Greater London Authority. https://www.hayatsuarchitects.com
