NB: Occasional sound and image interference. Has the Architectural Profession a Future?Talk given at the AA conference ‘The Architect’s Futures’. ‘Architecture has a future, and architects have a future, but only if they are involved in a process of continuous anticipation, only if architecture moves from the curative to the preventive. I do not think that the instantaneous response to a particular problem by an architect is fast enough . . . Unless architecture realizes that calculated uncertainty is one of the great generators for what it should be doing in the future then I think the profession has no future, but I think architecture has.’
