Live talk with Hans Lensvelt | Virtual Design Festival | Dezeen

Today, VDF teamed up with Lensvelt for a series of live talks exploring the furniture brand’s collaborations with designers Maarten Baas, Joep van Lieshout and Fabio Novembre. To kick off the collaboration, Lensvelt founder Hans Lensvelt introduced the brand in a live Screentime conversation.

Lensvelt’s founder spoke about the history of the Dutch furniture brand and its products with Dezeen’s founder and editor-in-chief Marcus Fairs.

Founded in 1962 by his father, Lensvelt took the reins of the brand in 1985 and has since facilitated its extensive product line of home and office furnishings.

The brand frequently collaborates with a roster of Dutch designers for their products, including Marcel Wanders, Piet Hein Eek and Richard Hutton, who designed a range of stackable chairs and barstools for the brand.

Lensvelt has also previously released a collection of intentionally boring office furniture, designed in an effort to encourage a greater balance between work and play.
