Climate Week Day 2 / Kate Davies and Jez Ralph / Hooke Park: A Microcosm of Climate-led Materiality

Kate Davies is Head of Hooke Park and co-directs the PG Design and Make Programme. She is co-founder of the nomadic studio, Unknown Fields whose expedition-based work explores the complexities of global supply chains in relation to landscapes of production. Prior to moving to Hooke Park, Kate was Head of Media Studies at the AA and unit master of AA Diploma 6 (The Unknown Fields Division).

Jez Ralph is a forester based in south west England. From a degree in archaeology via a masters in forestry Jez has built up his company, Evolving Forests, to work at the intersection of trees, timber and the built environment. Jez worked for the AA at Hooke Park before moving into innovative architectural application for timber. Evolving Forests works with people interested in the future supply and demand for timber through ecologically resilient forestry, bioregionalism and a more symbiotic connection with the forest.
