Spatial systems for society / Alex Ely

This is the keynote lecture following the MArch Jury for the Housing and Urbanism Taught Postgraduate Programme.

This lecture will explore spatial systems at different scales, from the city as ecosystem to the cellular structure of the home as explored in the work of Mæ. Alex will illustrate ideas for city plans, neighbourhood structures and urban types through to the spatial richness of the home demonstrated in recent housing projects by the practice. Mæ is a practice of architects, urban designers, researchers and policy makers working at the forefront of sustainable, resilient and socially conscious architecture and urbanism; creating work that exists in harmony with the planet and enriches culture and society.
