100 Day Studio: Robert Barnes – ‘Architects’ Sketches Examined’

Day 58 of the 100 Day Studio

“The first idea the sketch – the egg or embryo of the idea so to speak – is nearly always far from complete; everything is there, if you like, but this everything has to be released, which simply means joining up the various parts.” – Eugene Delacroix

Robert Barnes is a senior lecturer in Theory and Design at London Metropolitan University’s School of Art Architecture and Design. He discusses and compares the definition of the sketch from Delacroix as an artist, to architects Markli and Venturi.
