Day 75 of the 100 Day Studio: Balconies became a subject of early lockdown through community singing and food baskets which would drop to the street. Will Jennings, Sonja Lakić and Peter Barber lead a discussion on balconies and their specific relationship between private and public, house and street, enclosure and openness. Will Jennings presents balconies in the neoliberal city, Sonja Lakić presents her research on the balconies of public housing in Yugoslavia, and Peter Barber will present recent schemes thinking about the community spaces, public spaces, the balconies and shared forecourts, and how these spaces overlap.
