Brinno TLC200 is a competent, entry-level time lapse camera, priced around the $100 mark.
I use it primarily for site analysis and documenting notable construction milestones (excavation, framing, setting steel, SIPS install, pouring concrete, etc.) It could also be used to illustrate your design process, or to record subtle site features, sun patterns in existing spaces, use and movement patterns in a place, or user’s working habits and patterns to help formulate a more effective design.
Pros:
Easy to setup and use
Inexpensive
Robust feature set (all you’re likely to ever need)
HD output
Video compiling takes seconds
Long recording life
Small form factor
Cons:
Clunky user interface
Not HDR (high dynamic range) – image quality suffers as a result
No “recording” indication – not sure if it’s on and recording
Lacks an external battery indicator
Exposure control is limited
Mounting bracket is shaky in windy locations
