This is the keynote lecture following the M.Arch Jury for the Sustainable and Environmental Design Taught Postgraduate Programme
Atmos Lab is devoted to helping architecture face the environmental challenges of our time with built-in common sense. Playing with temperature, sunlight, or wind, they provide a climate-responsive frame of mind, and healthier solutions to build with: more efficient, more comfortable, more sustainable. Atmos Lab will tell environmental stories from practice and research conducted in collaboration with Lacaton & Vassal, OFFICE KGDVS, Baukunst, and Baukuh.
RAFAEL ALONSO CANDAU graduated from the Polytechnic University of Valencia and completed his MArch in Sustainable Environmental Design at the Architectural Association in London. He often shares his technical expertise on building carbon footprints and urban environmental conditions at various educational institutions and as peer reviewer for conferences and publications.
FLORENCIA COLLO studies architecture at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) followed by the MSc in Sustainable Environmental Design at the AA. She has taught at UBA and other universities and currently leads a course on environmental design at the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella.
OLIVIER DAMBRON is a French-Indonesian engineer trained at the school of Hautes Etudes d’Ingénieur in France and the AA School’s MSc Programme in Sustainable Environmental Design. His research focuses on the environmental design potential of bamboo in tropical architecture, a topic on which he lectures in the UK and abroad.
