Gordon Benson, British architect and co-founder of Benson + Forsyth talks about the historical and cultural influences that have shaped the practice.
On graduating from the Architectural Association in the late nineteen sixties, Gordon Benson and Alan Forsyth joined the architects department of the London Borough of Camden where they were responsible for a series of pioneering housing projects including the Branch Hill estate in Hampstead. Benson & Forsyth’s subsequent projects have included the extensions of the Museum of Scotland (1998) and National Gallery of Ireland (2002) and most recently, Gabriel Square, a major housing scheme in St Albans (2017).
