M.Arch Jury Week Keynote Lectures (SED)

Patrick Bellew, is one of the UK’s royal designers and a building environmental engineer with more than 30 years’ experience in the design of high performance buildings and systems. He works with architects to make green buildings and is committed to sustainable design within the built environment. The work of his practice, Atelier Ten, is rooted in the vernacular but extends through technology into modernity. In this lecture, he will describe how the application of a broad range of environmental ideas has shaped his work by specific reference to recently completed green buildings – for example Gardens by the Bay in Singapore or projects in the UK, China and Turkey.

Patrick Bellew is a Chartered Building Services Engineer committed to the design of high-performance buildings. He is a visiting professor at Yale University School of Architecture and a trustee of the UK Green Building Council. A fellow of the UK’s Royal Academy of Engineering, he was named a royal designer for industry in 2010 by the Royal Society of Arts.
