Jessam Al-Jawad and Dean Pike set up Al-Jawad Pike in 2014 after spending ten years working together at David Chipperfield Architects. The London-based studio is engaged in a critical yet optimistic enquiry into architecture through the practice of building. Its design philosophy is informed by history and context, and characterised by a sensitivity to materials and the way they are brought together in construction. Diversity is deeply rooted within the studio dNA. The six-person team has an equal gender split and consists of five nationalities – British, Iraqi, Turkish, Iranian and Italian. Key upcoming projects include a private penthouse lined with travertine, terrazzo, marble and velvet plaster within the South Bank Tower and two social housing schemes for Hackney Council. https://aljawadpike.com/
