James Alder and Thom Brisco founded their practice in late 2018, two decades after meeting on their first day of secondary school. In between, they worked together at Jamie Fobert Architects while in their twenties. During Alder Brisco’s first year, the practice completed two built works and now has a further ten projects in progress. It focuses on making ‘bold and generously day-lit spaces of considered arrangement and spirited volume’, and describes its work as animated by an exploratory reconfiguration of standard building components. Current work includes cast circular exedrae benches and landscaping at Rectory Lane Cemetery in Berkhamsted and an events space for a local community group in Walworth, south London. http://alderbrisco.com/
