Build Up was founded in 2014 by construction company Adventure Playground Engineers and runs practical construction projects for young people aged 6–20 to design and build structures in their local communities. Working in public spaces, parks and housing estates, Build Up supports young people to create spaces in places that matter to them, with input from friends, family and professionals in the built environment. In 2019, Build Up completed a new public space at Flanders Way in Hackney after 400 local young people voiced that they did not feel informed about, involved in, or were benefiting from, the way their area was changing. At the official project opening, the young people involved gave speeches to a crowd of 150 local people, volunteers, residents, shopkeepers, architects and politicians. https://www.buildup.org.uk/
