Leeds practice Group Ginger thinks of itself as a storyteller, enriching old stories and establishing new narratives of place through its work. Established in 2014, its name refers to the political term ginger group, an organisation that works to identify alternative and beneficial ideas. Through its own practice, Group Ginger seeks to develop opportunities that amplify a project’s potential by re-purposing existing spaces and creating active new environments. A refurbishment of Scarborough’s Grade II-listed Market Hall included the creation of a flexible new events space. In Leeds, it completed a rooftop extension for the Leeds College of Music. New build projects include The Hide at Tophill Low Nature Research for Yorkshire Water, which includes a public viewing gallery and a 24-hour facility for twitchers. http://www.groupginger.com/
