Based in east London, Thomas-McBrien was established in 2017. Led by Barry McBrien, the architecture and design studio describes its work as characterised by rigorous, well-proportioned form imbued with a passion for materiality, craftsmanship and refined detailing. A contemporary aesthetic is counterbalanced by a respect and understanding of the historic. New-build London projects include Shaftsbury Mews, a proposal for six houses on a backland site in Forest Gate, and five houses on a brownfield site at Christchurch Road in Tulse Hill.
